Index Methodology

Designed in partnership with Vested Impact, impact is at the heart of the methodology underpinning our indices. Robust impact analysis ensures that only the highest-rated companies are selected for our funds.

  1. Initial Screening
  2. Impact Analysis
  3. Final Index

Step 1
Initial Screening

BITA screen the global equity universe for companies that are materially aligned to each sub-theme. An exclusion list based on the proprietary BITA CIRCA5000 StayAway Framework is then applied to exclude any businesses involved in controversial business activities or conduct. Additional financial filters are applied for market capitalisation, liquidity and free-float.

Step 2
Impact Analysis

The remaining companies in each theme are then meticulously analysed and scored by Vested Impact. Their methodology uses over 100,000,000 data points from over 250 organisations to validate company impact, feeding into 4 core pillars that are consistent across all companies. The methodology produces an absolute impact rating for each company that we then use to construct the final index for each fund.
